Services and support
Working in over 30 locations across Midlothian, we provide person-centred care for adults with a learning disability.
Whether you require support 24 hours a day or just a few hours every week, in your own tenancy or in shared accommodation, we can tailor our services to your lifestyle. By supporting people to live independently, we aim to ensure they lead happy and healthy lives as active members of their local communities.

Your voice matters
Inclusivity and giving people autonomy over their care is integral to the way we operate. We continuously develop and improve our services by actively encouraging regular feedback and suggestions.
This is facilitated by forums like ‘Our voices’, which gives everyone the opportunity to share their opinions and ideas surrounding our services and their own support.
Comprised of a group of people we support, our Board of Advisors influence the day to day running of St Joseph’s. Working alongside our Trustees, they provide input on strategic decisions, ensuring everyone is represented fairly and all contributions are listened to.

Our structures and processes
We couldn’t do what we do without our highly skilled and compassionate support team, who are committed to providing the highest quality of care.
Over time, we have established strong partnerships and collaborative working practices. St Joseph’s is formed of three circles of support, led by three experienced Registered Managers and overseen by our Chief Executive, Rob Jahoda and Head of Services, Colette Clark.
Each circle includes core and cluster models. This means that people are supported to live in their own homes within the same building or scheme as other people with a learning disability. Each home benefits from dedicated core team, which is part of a larger team, all of whom have a close relationship with the people we support. As well as cultivating a sense of community, this approach ensures continuity across our care and management services.
