Established in 2020, St Joseph’s Homes is dedicated to sourcing, purchasing, adapting and maintaining properties for adults with learning disabilities.
About us
We believe everyone has a right to have a home.
Over recent years it has become increasingly difficult for St Joseph’s Services to access accommodation that meets the needs of the people they support through traditional methods, including local authority housing, housing association properties and private lets. Rising to this challenge, St Joseph’s Services formed and invested in an independent charity and company with its own governance structure.
How does it all work?
If you are seeking support from St Joseph’s Services but do not have a suitable home or any alternative solution, St Joseph’s Homes may be able to help by taking the following steps:
- Sourcing suitable properties available in the area you would like to live in.
- Making any required adaptations.
- Supporting you to access benefits to pay your rent.
When buying a specific tenancy for an individual or establishing a shared accommodation setting, we work with all of the prospective tenants and, where applicable, significant people in their lives, such as guardians or family members. This collaborative approach helps to ensure our properties meet the unique requirements of everyone who is going to live there.
Do we deliver housing support or care at home?
As a landlord, we provide accommodation and property maintenance in the properties we own. However, St Joseph’s Homes is distinct from St Joseph’s Services and does not provide any support services to the people who live in their properties.

Will we buy a suitable house for you to live in?
We are happy to discuss any housing problems you may have and work with you to find a solution. However, as a small charity with limited resources, we are not able to buy a large number of properties on a yearly basis at present.
