St Joseph’s Homes is a new charity with a bright future. As a member of St Joseph’s Services, an organisation providing care and support services to adults with a learning disability in Midlothian and Edinburgh for over 100 years, St Joseph’s Homes has both a prestigious history and a fresh future.
Established in 2020, St Joseph’s Homes provides high quality, person-centred housing to adults with learning disabilities in a variety of locations in Midlothian and Edinburgh. The flexibility we offer emphasises individualised care and support plans which are tailored around their current lifestyle. Our large and experienced organisation is set up in models of ‘Circles of Best Practice’ to ensure that all we do focuses on connection, friendship, inclusion and belonging.
Job Purpose
We are seeking Trustees who will aid our ambitious vision for the future, realise our aspirations and who share our passion in delivering excellent service to adults with learning disabilities.
Engaging in quarterly meetings at the head office in Rosewell, you will be part of a team of actioners, providing pivotal support in decision-making. This allows us to ascertain housing that will support the people in our services to prosper as community members and live happy, healthy and independent lives in their own homes.
Person Specification
St Joseph’s Services are looking for committed, enthusiastic and inspirational Trustees to ensure effective governance. We are looking for candidates with specialised knowledge to be part of our brilliant team of trustees. Together, you will develop St Joseph’s Services and set our strategic direction in accordance with our objectives, vision, mission and Vincentian values.
We are particularly keen to hear from people with skills and experience in one or more of the following:
- Social Care
- Law
- Finance
- Property Management
- Lived experience of the issues that we at St Joseph’s address.
Previous experience as a Trustee is not essential as training and support will be offered. Our main considerations will be your dedication to our Vincentian values, your readiness to contribute your expertise, and your passion for making a difference to the lives of the people we support, their families, and our community.
This is a greatly rewarding voluntary role – you will influence change, develop professionally and contribute to a Scotland where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
