Pastoral team
Angela Carlyle
Pastoral Co-ordinator
My journey at St Joseph’s began in November 2021 and I feel very blessed for the opportunity to take up the role of Pastoral Coordinator.
My background is teaching and I worked as a Primary School Teacher in an East Lothian school for 11 years, previously 2 years in Midlothian. Within my role, I worked alongside professionals from multi service agencies and was privileged to support children with a range of needs.
I would describe myself as a people person with a very positive attitude. I truly believe in the value of encouraging everyone to reach their potential and to develop each other’s gifts and talents.
My motto is ‘treat each other the way we want to be treated’ and if we do that we’re on the right path.
Anne McEvoy
Pastoral Worker
I have been at St Joseph’s for 3 years now.
Before working here, I worked in various roles, including Primary School Teaching, Nursery Deputy Manager, Children and Family Services and Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Through these, I have gained experience in working with people of diverse ages, abilities, cultures and faiths and appreciate the importance of good communication and relationships, and building a sense of community.
I enjoy working as part of a team and the richness that brings, and getting to really know people and listening to their stories. This is one of the things I like about St Joseph’s
The uniqueness and dignity of every person is important to me and that is another thing I like about working at St Joseph’s. We live by our Values, and everyone is respected, included and cherished. Everyone works hard in their various roles and all together for a common purpose of offering the highest quality of life and care, always putting the ‘person’ first and willing to ‘go the extra mile’ when needed.
St Joseph’s is welcoming and friendly with hospitality a priority. There is always a cup of tea/coffee/ juice on offer and a chance to say ‘hello’ and chat.
It is like ‘a home from home’ and a wonderful community to work in and belong to.
